About St. Joseph's Vocational School Mbarara
Founded in 1980 by Bishop Emeritus J.B. Kakubi, St. Joseph’s was established with the vision of nurturing responsible and faith-driven future leaders through quality Catholic education. Supported by the Missionaries of Africa and other donors, the school began as a vocational institution offering practical skills such as building, woodwork, and agriculture before expanding to provide a full secondary education curriculum. Over the years, St. Joseph’s has grown from fewer than 100 students into a well-established school offering both O-Level and A-Level education. Guided by strong Christian values, the school is committed to academic excellence, discipline, leadership development, and practical skills training that prepare students for success in life and service to society.
