About Nabumali High School

Nabumali High School, founded in 1900 by British missionaries in Mbale, Eastern Uganda, is a historic, government-aided mixed boarding school renowned for its motto "Onwards and Upwards." After a legendary peak as a national academic giant in the late 20th century, the school suffered a period of infrastructure damage and performance decline in the early 2000s due to student unrest. However, driven by an active old students' association (NOSA) and modern administrative reforms, Nabumali has achieved a massive revival, boasting a 100% pass rate in recent UCE exams, upgraded infrastructure like a water system, and a competitive presence in national school sports.
